Blake Medical Center offers state of the art diagnostic testing through the use of Gastroesophagel Manometry and PH testing in the diagnosis of Gastroesophagel Reflux Disease. Your doctor may want you to have an esophageal manometry because you have had chronic heartburn in the past and may now be considering surgery as an alternative to continued medication.

Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication, considered to be the "Gold standard" surgical treatment is also now available to patients through our Heartburn Relief Center. For many people, particularly chronic heartburn sufferers for whom over-the-counter antacids and prescription medications do not seem to work, anti-reflux surgery may be an effective treatment option.

This videoscopic surgical procedure is an alternative to traditional, "open" surgery. The videoscopic procedure eliminates the need for the large incision, and instead is performed by the surgeon making five to six small incisions, each less than one inch in the abdomen.
