Stroke Support Peer Visitor ProgramThe Stroke Support Peer Visitor Program is an education and wellness program for stroke survivors and their families. This program is offered at Blake Medical Center by a team of trained caregivers and stroke survivors with assistance from healthcare professionals. The program matches recovering stroke survivors and caregivers with persons and families recently affected by stroke. Through personal visits, Peer Visitors offer encouragement, advice and most importantly, hope. Their own victory over stroke is the best possible proof that life after stroke can be happy, productive and independent. To request a Peer Visitor contact your nurse or other healthcare provider, or call Tami Spyker in the Speech Therapy Department at (941) 798-6278. |
