The role of the volunteers in the hospital is to assist us in achieving the hospital's goals which are to provide high quality, cost effective healthcare services and to promote these services in the community.

Auxiliary
Organized in 1974, our Auxiliary has disbursed almost 3/4 million dollars in scholarships to citizens of Manatee County for study in medically-related fields. In addition, they support organizations promoting the health and welfare of the residents of Manatee County. For more information call Ext. 6151.
Volunteer Services
Auxiliary, Red Cross, Teenage and General Volunteers deliver newspapers, drive you from the parking lot to the hospital, disperse patient information, escort you to your room, and deliver tender, loving care freely in 60 different areas in which they serve. For more information call Ext. 6151.
The Gift Shop
Gifts for baby, magazines, flowers, candies, cards, stuffed animals and other gift items may be purchased. It is located on the first floor and is open front 8:00 am. to 8:00 p.m. daily. For more information call Ext. 6148.
The Shopping Cart
Makes rounds from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with a variety of merchandise from the Gift Shop.
Newspaper
Local newspapers may be purchased from the volunteer paper carrier who visits each floor daily.
Courier Service
Need something from the Gift Shop (newspaper, toothbrush, magazine, etc)? Call Ext. 6717 and a volunteer will deliver your request.
